Where an employer’s assessment for the First Aid needs identifies that a Four-day FAW qualification is not necessary, the minimum employer’s requirement is to appoint a person to take charge of the First Aid arrangements.
This course is also designed for persons acting in a supporting role to qualified First Aiders.
This training course will cover the following topics:
- Aims and principles of first aid
- What to do in an emergency
- Recognition of emergency illness
- Asphyxia - care of a choking casualty
- Cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
- Assessment and treatment bleeding and shock
- Assessment and treatment of fractures
- Assessment and treatment of burns and scalds.
